Colourful Blue and White Beach Cabins in Noirmoutier, France.
How was your week? I feel like mine went quite fast between juggling work, the blog, every day things and preparing my next trip (we're talking getting a visa, travel insurance, foreign money etc.). I managed to find good breaks to go stretch at my Pilates class, preparing meals while listening to the French radio and diving into a very interesting book before bedtime. It's all about finding a good balance sometimes!
Here is a little selection of links I collected this week:
- Something interesting: this story about a young girl having her portrait taken is truly beautiful and moving.

- Something delicious: I am really craving spaghetti carbonara after reading this blog post and seeing the beautiful photos accompanying it.

- Something else delicious: this recipe for leek soup and whipped feta might be of good use this weekend if the weather doesn't warm up.

- Something to wear: a French blogger I follow released a line of sustainable clothing with the brand Close this week and I have to say it all looks quite pretty.

- A film: I went to see this magical Disney movie last weekend with family members and it was very enjoyable, I was reminded of the type of movies I really loved watching as a child.

- A song: I have been listening to Arcade Fire quite a bit recently but especially this song from my favourite album of theirs.

Indoor urban jungle: Monstera Deliciosa plant
Bonjour! I hope you all had a good week! What have you been up to: work, holidays, cooking, reading, relaxing?
Mine was the type of week that slows down completely. After a past weekend of unusual events, it was time to just take it easy, catch up on work, focus on calming things like reading, make home a relaxing and cosy space and be creative with cooking.
Here are the weekly links for you to enjoy this Saturday:
- Something interesting: I love this to do list about adulting in the Springtime.

- Something else interesting: and while we are in the process of refreshing and adulting this Springtime, my friend Alex also shared some great tips for Spring decluttering.

- Something delicious: a tempting smoothie idea for breakfast. I do not like breakfast habits and always change the foods I eat for that time of day every few weeks so this would be perfect to try.

- Something else delicious: my friend Caroline at Yvonne & Guite is now baking and selling chocolate canelés in her range of wonderful little indulgences and it looks absolutely delicious (her canelés are to die for - if only she delivered to Ireland too...).

- A documentary series: there's a new season of Chef's Table coming to Netflix and this time it is about pastry! Have you watched the trailer? This is so exciting!

How are you all? Did you have a good week? I am on the second day of a long weekend and enjoying all the plans made for it: dinners with friends and family, date lunch with my favourite person, possibly going to see a movie, reading and most of all relaxing. There will probably also be some day dreaming and plan making for my holidays next month.
Here are a few links for you to enjoy this weekend:
- Something interesting: this couple lives in a very unusual building and interior designed a wonderful apartment in it.

- Something delicious: this steak and avocado salad sounds incredibly appetising and I look forward to making it.

- Some other delicious thing: I loved getting those French pastries at the boulangerie when I lived in France and I think I will give this recipe a go.

- Somewhere to visit: these food halls sound incredible and a little something tells me I might be paying them a visit soon enough.

- A TV series: I quite enjoyed watching the French series Call My Agent on Netflix and I hear a third season is in the making, so exciting!

Mahon Falls in County Waterford, Ireland
Happy weekend dear readers and happy St Patrick's Day to all the Irish people here and around the world! I did something a little crazy on a whim this week (and probably because of Aerlingus constantly sending me emails about fantastic flights deals...) and booked a ticket for myself to go somewhere really warm next month and also where some of my favourite people live. This is very exciting!
As usual, here are a few interesting things for you to enjoy this Saturday:
- Something interesting: with our process of decluttering the house, I found this article with top tips that might help.

- Something delicious: Mardi's blog post about café gourmand has me all excited about baking mini desserts this weekend.

- Some other delicious thing: I shared a recipe for profiteroles this week and even created my own GIF for the occasion!

- A book: I am currently reading The Stonecutter by Camilla Läckerg and it is a really captivating read.

- A song: the rainy weather this week had me wanting to curl up on the couch with a book, some lemon green tea with Laura Marling on repeat.

- A film: I watched this classic 80's movie which reminded me that the only time I went to detention in secondary school, it was nothing as entertaining as this.

Saturday Links #8 on Creme de Citron Blog
How have you been this week? I was so glad to finally go outside and get some fresh air after being stuck at home quite a bit during the snow storm last week. The snow is mostly all melted now (there are still some piles left here and there where we live) and we have had some lovely sunny days with blue sky during the week. Plans are busy for the weekend as we are going to help a family member with painting (nothing artistic, just plain walls...). I am hoping to find some time to cook, read and relax as well. Here are some links for you to enjoy this Saturday:
- Something interesting: how a trip to Italy inspired a family to tackle food waste at home.

- Something delicious: I really want to try those farmhouse party quesadillas at the weekend.

- Some other delicious thing: I spotted this recipe for Gin Punch and I look forward to the warmer months when it will be blueberry season again.

- A book: I heard the graphic novel Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked The World by Pénélope Bagieu is finally out in English and I cannot wait to gift it to a lot of lovely ladies this year (I read both volumes in French and it's wonderful seeing it translated).

- A song: Remember Me from Pixar's Coco won an Oscar! The movie itself is really quite wonderful.

- A TV series: I watched French tv series La Mante during the snow storm and really enjoyed it.

Salted Butter Chocolate Chunks Shortbread Cookies - Photography: Yolene Dabreteau
How was your week? I saw there is some very cold weather (and snow?!) on the way this part of the world next week. I hope you are all preparing for it well with food, warm clothes and cosy things to do. In the meantime, here is a series of links for you to enjoy this Saturday:
- Something interesting: a good excuse for planning a trip to London.

- Something delicious: after hearing so much about those salted butter chocolate chunks shortbread
cookies, I made a batch and nearly ate everything (believe the hype here, they are wonderful).

- Some other delicious thing: I made more of this chocolate rice pudding with poached pear and hazelnut praline.

- A book: I devoured this incredible book about food by Ruby Tandoh (I might even re-read it, which is something I rarely do - this is how much I enjoyed it).

- A song: I listened to this young French singer's beautiful songs on repeat.

- A TV series: we finally started watching the tv series based on novel The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood (which I had read last year and highly recommend adding to your reading list if you haven't yet). We are only on episode 3 so far and it is such an incredible adaptation of the book.
