Visiting Portugal: Vilamoura

Visiting Portugal: Vilamoura
Two weeks ago, I was enjoying some sunshine and relaxing time in Vilamoura, Portugal. And both sun and relaxation were had aplenty, as well as turning off the phones and catching up on reading.
I was really looking forward to also discover a new food culture since I had never been to Portugal before. The recommendations that were given to us at our hotel were clearly aimed at tourists and I was not going to have any of it. I do not like the idea of traveling to another country and not try the local cuisine. My idea of a holiday in a South European country is not to end up eating Chinese, Italian, Indian, French or Irish meals.
Thankfully, E. and I were really lucky with our food discoveries.

Dublin: The Honest 2 Goodness market

Food glorious food! This is probably what went on in my head on Saturday morning. A French stomach growling with excitement at the crack of dawn would do that to you. The prospect of spending a day discovering and eating food made me jump out of bed quite early.
And what a day I tell you! The Irish Food Bloggers Association and Brid Carter had organised a lovely day out at the Honest 2 Goodness Market for a group of food bloggers. We all started the day by meeting each other at the cafe located in the market. There, some tables had been arranged for us to sit, chat and eat some delicious products.
We were then guided in small groups through the market where we could speak with the owners of the different stalls about their products.
Dubliners should feel really lucky and proud that such a place exists. A place where people are very friendly and give you a great sense of community, a place where the food is really diverse and fresh, a place where you get to discover wonderful products.
The market is located in Glasnevin (Dublin, Ireland) in the Dublin Industrial Estate. I will happily jump on a bus and make my way back there again to buy some delicious food products even though I live nearly on the other side of the city. It is so worth it!

Pear, Almond and Chocolate Mini Turnovers Recipe
Will the cold wintery weather ever end? It seems like the sun is trying to push its way through the clouds over Dublin and we might finally get to put on lighter clothes and shoes and sit outside for drinks with friends or enjoy a picnic in the park.
But even though it is cold and we would probably all rather stay at home with a cozy blanket, a bowl of hot delicious soup and a good book, we still have to get on with our lives.
The past three weeks have been busy for me but here I am back with a new post and a delicious recipe I made a few weeks ago.
