Pear and Serrano ham salad

Pear and Serrano Ham Salad Recipe
Since we moved to Kilkenny, E. and I are both working from home most of the time (he goes to Dublin once a week for work and I obviously get to travel around a bit with my photography job). This means we get to share more lunches together.
I decided that we should avoid super quick meals that would be tossed in the microwave and eaten in 5 minutes, or make easy sandwiches that would be eaten at the desk while still working at the computer (in French we say manger sur le pouce which means eat quickly).
Instead, I am taking the time to leave my desk for a while, put a few ingredients together and create something tasty that we eat sitting at the lunch table. I feel like this is a healthier habit and means we go back to work refreshed and ready to tackle whatever job is awaiting.

Banana Gingerbread Loaf Recipe
We were recently gifted by E.'s uncle a whole lot of his delicious honey. He and his brother work on the family dairy farm in County Carlow, Ireland, and he is also an apiculturist. Having moved closer means we can visit them more often, hence the delicious honey jars now filling our cupboard (if you are looking for this particular honey, it is called 'Killoughternane Apiaries Honey').
The advantage of honey is that it does not spoil so we can keep it for as long as we want. I love honey but this is clearly a lot to go through. So, as well as gifting some to my grandfather in France (he loves honey very much), I decided to use it in recipes: dressings for salads, marinades, desserts, etc.
It occurred to me that I often crave one of my favourite childhood after-school goûter (snack): a nice slice of pain d'épices (gingerbread loaf) toasted with a bit of butter or hazelnut chocolate spread. So my best solution to this? Make it, make lots of it!

Australian love in London

Australian Couple Engagement Photos in London
A month ago, I was in London and got to photograph this lovely Australian couple. They recently got engaged  and it was an absolute pleasure to create memories of their love for each other.
So, may I introduce you to Kellie and Luke. They are really good friends of mine and I met them during my time spent in Melbourne, Australia. They are actors and over there I got to photograph them for theatre productions a few times. They live in Hackney so we headed to a park one cold misty evening to capture a few images. I managed to shoot a few lovely moments before the light completely disappeared and, eventually, we had to push the rest of the session to another day that week, one early cold morning.
These two are so in love and such naturals that I barely had to give them directions. They seemed to forget how cold it was and were having a great time together.
I also organised a little indoor session to capture fast and fun actions and create a photo booth strip image for them.

It is really great getting to edit photos where people have a constant huge smile stuck on their faces.
Wishing you many more years of happiness together Kellie and Luke. And looking forward to the Down Under wedding!

Don't just be good to others. Be good to yourself too.

"Don't just be good to others. Be good to yourself too." I have seen this quote floating around Pinterest for a while now and lately I decided to use it wholeheartedly. As some of you might have seen (those of you reading this little blog of mine obviously), I have been taking a little blogging break since January.
I am not abandoning Crème de Citron, fear not! I have just been going through different life changes and challenges and wanted to take some time for myself and as the quote says, be good to myself.
