In the meantime, I thought I would tell you a bit about a food photo shoot I did in London last March.
I was hired by Caroline of new company Yvonne & Guite to style and photograph her delicious canelés. Caroline actually got in touch with me in Spring last year. She was browsing this little blog and when reading my 'About' page, she recognised me from high school. We sat together in art classes then during our last three years before college. And all along our Skype conversations while Caroline was telling me about her food business project, we shared stories of our childhoods in separate towns and somehow realised we had been on a school ski trip together (our two schools went together). And when I used to play basketball it looks like our teams played matches against each other (so we met then without knowing it). So many coincidences! And as luck would have it, we ended up working together on her business images.
I obviously got to taste her canelés in between shots and, of course, once they were not needed for photos anymore. They are beyond delicious! I just could not stop eating them. I had a little bag of them with me on the London tube on my way back to where I was staying with friends. You could have sworn my life was in that bag because I was holding it so tight in fear that I would lose my precious 'little indulgences' (as Caroline calls them). Crispy on the outside, smooth on the inside, the delicacy and flavour of Yvonne & Guite's canelés are unreal. If I lived in London, I would certainly have to deal with a serious addiction to them!
I am sharing here a few of the shots I styled and photographed for Yvonne & Guite. If you live in London, you are so lucky and should definitely get yourself a box of those amazing canelés!
