In my suitcase #4

In my suitcase, 4th Edition.
We were in France over the Christmas holidays and as usual we packed up a few things to bring back while there: from Nantes, Paris and delicious gifts from our family. Let's see what was in our suitcase this time!
1 - Some yuzu powder and toasted sesame seeds gifted by my cousin. She is good at trying various spices and cuisines in general and always has some good suggestions. I look forward to trying those, especially the yuzu powder (which I am already thinking could be added to flavour butter...).

2 - A beautiful box of Bonne Maman mini cakes (financiers, madeleines, fruit cakes...). I believe this was a special box for Christmas. I really loved the idea of having a variety of their delicious little cakes. Those did not last too long once we brought them back...

3 - A good pile of books in French. Whenever I go to France, I always stock up on books in my native language so I can keep up with it (you would not believe how easy it is to forget some vocabulary when you speak another language all the time). If you want to see what I read this year, head to my Instagram profile as I will share a little recap after each month in my stories (kept as highlights on my profile).

4 - While in La Grande Epicerie, we found out that their coffee blend also existed in pods so we got some to try it back home. It was perfect and not too strong for me (I am a coffee drinker newbie so one step at a time).

5 - Nonnettes with apricot jam that we also got in La Grande Epicerie. I had never tried nonnettes before and I feel I have been seriously missing out! It is a little gingerbread cake made with honey, orange marmalade (this one had apricot jam instead) and topped with a thin orange glaze. I need more nonnettes in my life!

6 - Two bars of delicious Dolfin chocolate: one that was gifted to us (Petit Beurre) and one with picked in the chocolate section of La Grande Epicerie (pears and toasted almonds). They were both really delicious, especially the pear one that really reminded me of the Poire Belle Hélène dessert.

7 - A chocolate bar from Vincent Guerlais chocolaterie in Nantes: milk chocolate with caramelised almonds and fleur de sel. The flavours were really delicate and I really loved it (I am usually more into dark chocolates). We had bought a few other delicious things to share with my family at Christmas. I look forward to going back and taste some of the macarons and cakes sold in that beautiful shop.

Do you like bringing back things from the places you visit on holidays? Are they a mix or do you focus on certain items (for example, I clearly focus on food items)?
