In my suitcase #5

In my suitcase, 5th edition.
From my trip to Florida a few weeks ago, I packed up a few things in my suitcase to bring back as gifts or things for us to enjoy at home.
Whenever I travel somewhere (especially when it's a different country), I like to get a selection of things to bring back and those things are usually food related, books and/or artwork.
1 - Peach pepper jelly and old timey violet sweets from World Market. Those were gifted to me by my friend in the nicest welcome box of lovely things when I arrived there. I cannot wait to try the jelly with cheeses and I love the idea of the violet sweets as a memory of our holidays together in the South West of France last year (where violets are used as an ingredients in various things: sweets, ice cream, tea, mustard etc.). We also popped by World Market at some stage and it not only had really nice things to decorate your home but it had many many food items from all around the world.

2 - Minnie and Mickey Mouse soft toys to attach on a backpack or school bag. I could not go to Disneyworld in Orlando and not bring back cute souvenirs for my niece and nephew here in Dublin. I brought back an edible souvenir for us but that did not last long enough to make it on this photo (they were chocolate-covered pretzels in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head).

3 - Cinnamon churro-flavoured marshmallows. Okay, I can admit I only bought those because of the packaging design which I thought was a bit Wes Andersonian because I do not tend to buy sweets/candies. The good thing is the ingredients are very natural and the taste actually resembled the one of churros. I just thought they were way too sweet for my liking.

4 - Sugarfina rosé bears and roses. These sweets came in a very pretty packaging and were gifted to me by my friend while there. It took me a while to open one of the boxes and try them because it all looked way too pretty. They actually taste really nice and fruity, so much so that I had to whisper to myself 'stop eating them, close that little box and put it away right now'. What I really like about those sweets as well is they are made with natural ingredients, no artificial flavour and colour (and also to be noted: sustainably sourced palm oil)

5 - A Florida print by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co. I like getting art prints while on holidays and this one was just perfect. Not only I love Anna Bond's work but Florida is the home state of her beautiful company.

6 - Ghirardelli chocolate. I had heard a lot about the great quality of this brand so I really wanted to get a few things to bring back and try. The chocolate bars (milk and caramel, dark chocolate with sea salt and almonds) were really excellent. I still have to try the chocolate chips and caramel flavoured chips in my baking, it will be a good excuse to make cookies soon. I was able to find all of these in a supermarket and again, I really appreciate that the company uses sustainably sourced palm oil as well as cocoa.

If you sometimes travel to the USA for work or holidays, what are your favourite things to bring back?

Love this post! I live in the States and travel to France every year. I *always* bring tea from Elmwood Inn Fine Teas (local, small batch tea blends), peanut butter M&M's, and freezer Ziploc Bags (heavy freezer bags).

I love reading about other people's habits of what they bring on their travels. Thanks for sharing! I am quite familiar with the peanut butter M&M's since my brother always asks for some whenever I travel to the US :)
